Our crewing package includes any or all of the services listed below, structured to meet each client’s individual requirements:
1. Recruitment
Searching, screening, and selection of specialists for employment on board vessels
Monitoring personnel certifications, including reference checks
Reviewing performance appraisal forms for all required ranks as per the company’s Crew Manual
2. Pre-Employment
Assessments for competency and English language skills, including maritime English
Evaluation of competency and experience through computer-based tests
Verification of crew experience by senior mentors
Pre-employment medical examinations, including drug and alcohol tests as per owners’ requirements
Implementation and follow-up of drug and alcohol policies
3. Employment
Checking and arranging all required documentation, including pre-joining briefings as per company procedures
Briefings on principals’ policies and regulations
Visa and travel arrangements for crew joining or leaving vessels
Briefings on ship operations, safety procedures, and protocols
Supply of necessary working gear
Arrangement of flag state licenses if required by vessel owners
4. Retention Management
Crew appraisal for re-employment, including additional training and refresher courses
Crew planning according to the updated company rotation schedule
5. Training and Support for Cadets
SeaVikingsis committed to promoting the professional development of young seafarers.
Candidates should be graduates of a three-year Candidates should be graduates of a three-year academic program from a maritime academy. To qualify for acceptance into the cadet program, candidates must pass a rigorous screening and selection process at the academy and within our office. Upon successful completion, a cadet is assigned to a SeaVikings vessel for their first contract to gain shipboard experience as a trainee junior officer.
On board, the master or chief engineer oversees the training plan and ensures the cadet has opportunities to demonstrate and document tasks and competencies achieved.
Positive performance evaluations and an additional period at sea are required before recommendation for the next contract or promotion.
